THE STORY BEHIND WHY I MADE THIS ARTWORK:

I created this painting because of a connection to plants. I find them fascinating and calming to be around.

I feel compelled to touch them... to connect with them... and the energy received by them is a little bit magical. It's interesting to touch the leaves and feel the texture of the veins underneath. The veins that carry the essentials of life to sustain the plant.

There are similarities between plants and people. People don't often look that close at something so common... but when you do, there's a world of wonder and inspiration to be found.

Have you ever looked at a leaf... I mean, really looked at a leaf? Do you see the roadmap of life within? Do you appreciate that these are the lungs of the tree, breathing in our exhales as we breathe in theirs? The symbiotic relationship is essential to life.

Without the plants and trees, without the oxygen-providing leaves, we would not be here. This is life.

This is a closer look at a leaf and at our own existence. Gratitude for the inter-connectedness of life is what inspired this painting.
